Ringwood Aquatic Centre Project
Green Build
Brenair Mechanical Services were engaged by Kane Constructions to supply and install mechanical systems at Ringwood Aquatic Centre (Aquanation). The Aquanation project was a full green build, which was an essential part of our design approach to the mechanical and electrical, hydraulics and building materials inclusions.
Being a green build it was imperative to our design approach that we considered the energy efficiency and environmental footprint within all aspects of design. Brenair was placed in charge of designing and installing the entire HVAC system for the pool facilities, gymnasium, childcare facility, dry training room and change rooms.
Due to the additional heat offset from a heated pool, Brenair chose an adiabatic cooling unit for the main plant room. In addition adiabatic condenser water system was installed to aid in heat removal.
As part of the HVAC design Brenair planned and installed wall mounted sweep fans, kitchen exhaust fans and make-up air systems. In addition Brenair had to complete all relevant electrical works and customise a Building Automation System for added control.
During the project implementation, Brenair faced many challenges including space constraints within plant rooms as well as within the ceiling during duct installation.
